Metallurgical Engineer
G J Steel Public Company LimitedDuties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with relevant departments to plan experiments for steel quality development.
- Establish standards for the use of additives and alloys for each steel grade.
- Optimize the relationship between carbon and oxygen levels and adjust the transfer conditions accordingly.
- Control the addition of alloys in the EAF and LHF, and calculate alloy yields.
- Develop quality standards and material specifications for scrap, additives, and alloys.
- Implement cost reduction initiatives and clean steel production technologies.
- Participate in, summarize, analyze, and present quality-related activities.
- Plan and conduct field trials for new products (additives and alloys).
- Analyze the relationships between various process parameters in the production process.
- Study the impact of impurity elements and determine maximum acceptable levels in scrap.
- Provide in-house training to employees to ensure a strong understanding of metallurgical knowledge relevant to the production process.
- Perform other metallurgy-related tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the steel industry (melting processes experience is preferred)
- Strong knowledge of steel metallurgy, EAF and LHF processes, and continuous casting
- Experience with quality control methods and process optimization
- Proficiency in using metallurgical software and tools
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Good command of English (written and verbal)
